After returning from January's Western Caribbean cruise we looked carefully at the evaluations to see what you were asking for. For several years a Baltic Cruise and Amazon River cruise had been requested.
We found the Amazon cruise but, sadly, all of its 'group rate cabins' had been filled for 2011. So, we've asked Marc at Courtyard Travel to lock it in for April of 2012. You'll also need to mark those dates now! It sails from Manaus, Brazil (900 miles 'up' the Amazon) to Ft. Lauderdale and it will be with Princess Cruise lines. One-way air to Manaus is low priced. As soon as we know more we'll let you know.
Shortly after this Robert came upon our next exciting cruise and within days Marc at Courtyard got us wonderful prices and it was a 'go': What a trip it is! You're hearing about it first, right here. However, word-of-mouth soon got out and 25 guys immediately booked it. It is aboard NCL's Norwegian Sun (which I have been on and can tell you is terrific) with an impressive schedule, starting in Copenhagen, going on to Berlin (fun,?fun, fun), Tallinn (which I'm told is beautiful and unforgettable), 2 days and one overnight in St. Petersburg (with the ship as your hotel), Helsinki, Stockholm (where we hope to meet up with our Prime Timer's chapter guys), and returning to Copenhagen.
It is too early for Courtyard to be able to get round-trip air prices but (like they did with our Repositioning Cruise in October) they will be able to do that about 9 months before. Experience the excitement, the thrill and the glamour of being one of the first passengers on NCL's newest luxury liner, the Epic! We've heard from many people who have asked if we plan to book this cruise. Now we can say 'yes'! Courtyard Travel was able to book this for us this morning: we set sail on January 8, 2011 from Miami on a 7-day cruise south that's sure to warm us up next Winter!
With this ship the itinerary comes second because of the amenities the ship has to offer: over 20 restaurants, free-style cruising, top entertainment (Blue Man Group and Second City Comedy) but, best of all, we finally?have a ship to accommodate the single traveler.
Inside Cabins start at $589, Studios for 1 at $719 and balconies at only $869 per person. Port charges ($150) and taxes ($104.88) as always are additional. If you choose to leave the ship you can visit Costa Maya,?Roatan, or Cozumel.
